I Believe, Inc. (IB) is a non-profit organization incorporated in the state of New Jersey. The corporation is organized for the purpose of providing educational and public awareness programs as well as life skills training and adaptive equipment resource services to improve the lives of individuals living with paralysis and their families. The organization will be engaged in the following activities, listed in order of importance:
Education - IB will provide a program designed to bring awareness to inner city youth and adults by visiting local schools, correctional facilities and detention centers speaking to them about violence and social issues in the community in the form of seminars. Topics are intended to educate attendees regarding gun violence, sharing experiences with regard to effect of violence and demonstrating the results and tragedies that can occur from misuse of guns. This activity is offered free to attendees, open to the public. All seminars will be facilitated by volunteer guest speakers.
Richard Gaskin will oversee this activity in conjunction with Paul E. Reed, Executive Director. Both of these positions are full time positions and are compensated as set forth by the Board of Directors. See budget.
Paralysis Assistance. - IB will offer three programs to assist individuals and families whose family members are dealing with paralysis.
Computers For Cure (CFC) – This program is designed to assist and help those who have handicap disabilities become more active within their economy’s workforce, by allowing an individual to work from home and/or to use an ADA computer suited to accommodate their needs. The organization will work with patients and identified service providers to assist patients in transition being released from medical facilities to rework their home to accommodate their new physical limitations and help to employ/re-employ them.
Products For Paralysis (PFP) – This program is designed to assist patients who have handicap disabilities, on a case-by-case basis or as a general information.
